Startup Radar – Global Startup Discovery Platform
The Startup Radar was built to address the complexity of discovering and evaluating startups at scale by shifting from traditional list-based exploration to an interactive, three-dimensional globe visualization developed with Three.js. Startups from around the world are positioned on a virtual Earth based on their geographic location, allowing innovation ecosystems to be explored spatially rather than abstractly.
Company valuation is encoded through color, making relative scale immediately visible and enabling users to identify regional clusters, high-growth areas, and emerging markets at a glance. Implementing globe visualization required careful handling of 3D rendering performance, camera interaction, and data synchronization between the visualization layer and detailed content views.
In addition to the globe-based view, the platform supports multi-criteria filtering by country, industry domain, and company valuation. Selecting a startup reveals a dedicated, scrollable detail view containing a structured overview, key challenges, market context, and additional metadata. The result is a balanced system that combines exploratory visual analysis with in-depth information.
